These basic vaastu guidelines can do wonders for your office

• Doors in commercial establishments and offices should be well painted. Any irritating noises while opening or closing doors disturb positive energies. Doors that open and close automatically are also not good.
• Keep all dustbins concealed. Never keep them next to the door.
• Display beautiful flowers or images. When a visitor enters the premises, he should not face a door. A main door facing another door causes energy to flow out. To conserve good energy, locate doors in a zigzag pattern; this also enables energy to reach all the corners.
• Do not install mirrors or mirror like objects in front of the main door, as they repel positive energy.
• The reception counter should be in the north, never in the south-southeast or southwest. It should not be very high or have a business logo. The counter top should not feature reflective glass. A water body in the reception area is very auspicious; however, the water flow should not be towards the main door, as this signifies that the wealth is going out of the premises.
• Seating for guests/visitors should be along the western wall.
• The northern walls should be lighter compared to the southern walls. All closets and storages should be made on the southern walls. Magnetic energy flows from the south to the north. If the north is burdened, the energy stays within the premises. The northern walls should be painted in light pastels and have maximum windows and openings.
• The marketing staff should occupy the northwest. As this area is related to the air element, salespeople will have the motivated to move out of office and into the field.
• The accounts and administration staff should occupy the east, and also face the east while working. East is a good direction to manipulate fund movement.
• The top management should occupy the southwest. The person sitting here can dominate the entire staff. Salespeople and lower cadres should not be given this area.
• The toilets should never be located along the eastern or northern walls, as they can create financial constraints, payment problems and low business turnover. Also, toilets in the northeast can cause major losses.
